Took this with my 50mm f1.8 lens (1/80s, ISO 400). It’s interesting to see how much less light I can get away with having with such a large aperture, even compared to my f2.8 lens. This was shot hand held during the evening of the foggiest day Ottawa has had in a long time. I’ve very recently begun experimenting with shooting to the right, and I like what it allowed me to do here.

While a lot of this image seems rather gloomy and dark (like the cold blue colour and the barren tree branches in the background), the slight vignetting of the sky resulting in the brightest spot being in the center makes the image seem somewhat bright and surreal.
